Once you book your vacation to Las Vegas the countdown begins, you can hardly wait and all you can focus on is the fun you’re going to have. Then comes the tough part, it’s time to pack your suitcase. There is just so much to consider when packing for a vacation but with Vegas it seems even more so. Obviously there is the weather to factor in, the type of attractions/shows you’ll be visiting, the restaurants, and the fact you want to leave space so you can do a little shopping while you’re there! To help you out we’ve compiled a list of items you’ll want to find room for, and some things to consider.

Basic Packing List

A basic packing list is just that, a list of basic items that you can work with and then add and remove as you see fit. These are just some of the items you’ll want to keep in mind as you pack your luggage.

A light sweater or jacket. Even if you’re going during the warm weather the casinos, restaurants, and theatres tend to be kept very cool. It’s nice to have something to wear in those instances so you aren’t chilled.

Comfortable walking shoes. No matter how stylish one wants to look, Vegas involves a lot of walking so with that in mind it’s a good idea to think ahead and pack a pair of comfortable casual shoes. To save space in your suitcase you can wear these on the plane, as they will be much more comfortable while pulling your luggage through the airport.

Semi-dressy wear. This includes your clothing and shoes. If you plan on visiting any of the fine dining establishments and even some of the shows, you’ll want to be dressed appropriately. Don’t be afraid to dress up, it’s Vegas and it’s all about going all out. Keep in mind that if you plan to visit a nightclub, they will have a dress code so you may want to do some research in advance to be sure you pack the right clothing.

Sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat. Yes even if you’re visiting in the winter months, the sun can still get warm so be prepared and have the proper sun protection.

A bathing suit. One of the things Vegas does really well is pools. Every hotel has its own spectacular pool and if you’re visiting during spring or summer, you’re going to want to check it out. Sandals will be a must at the pool for the guys and girls, so throw those in the bag as well. Ladies you’ll also want to bring a bathing suit cover-up so you can walk around and feel comfortable, and a large enough purse/bag to throw your gear in.

A camera. What’s this we speak of? A “camera”? Yes people still use them and they really do take the best pictures. So you may want to bring one along instead of counting on your phone to take mediocre pictures. Now on the flip side some people get so caught up in getting the perfect shot and capturing every moment, that they forget to relax and enjoy the vacation. If that sounds like you, then you’ll want to skip the camera all together.

What If You Forget Something?
Should the unfortunate happen and you forget to pack something that ends up being necessary, you’ll have no problem finding what you need in Vegas. The shopping really is a category all its own with designer fashions, outlets, and everything in between. This is all the more reason to leave a little extra space in your luggage so you can pick up a few special items while you’re there.
